Artist Zak Smith talks about:  his time at Yale, and the particular dysfunctions of what’s known as the Yale Pit and it’s public flogging-style critiques; the reasons why he went to grad school, and how it’s successfully impacted his career; his long-term relationship with his gallery Fredericks & Freiser; his decision to leave New York for L.A., from a community of artists and musicians to one of strippers and porn stars; and his work in porn, while debunking some myths that people have about the industry and the people in it.
